Google Ads management for a carpet cleaning company
Carpet cleaning is one of the few home services where the search happens minutes after the problem. The dog got sick on the stair runner, the in-laws land Friday, the lease inspection is Saturday. Those people type a phrase with a deadline behind it and call whoever answers first.
Clicks run $6 to $18 in most metros and $20 or more in Phoenix, Dallas and the Bay Area. A booked call lands between $25 and $80. Against an average residential ticket near $210 that math works, as long as you are not paying for people shopping for a machine.
That is the mistake in almost every account we open. Broad match on "carpet cleaner" buys Rug Doctor rentals, Bissell shoppers, vinegar tutorials and job seekers, and it can take half a month of budget before anyone notices. Phrase and exact only, with the negative list loaded before the first click. Structure is laid out in the Google Ads guide.
Two weeks in you should not be looking at click counts. You should have call recordings, a search terms report you have already pruned twice, and a cost per booked job you can argue with.
