The under-an-hour checklist for a carpet cleaning price page that gets the call
Shoppers want a price before they call. A 50-minute checklist for a carpet cleaning price page that answers "how much" without the bait-and-switch doubt.
Holiday shoppers are on your website right now, and the first thing they look for is the price. If they find "call for a quote," or a $99 special they do not believe, most of them back out and try the next company. A clear price page fixes that, and you can build one in under an hour.
This checklist assumes you already know your prices. If you are still deciding how to structure them, read the pricing guide first.
Minutes 0 to 10: decide what to show
Carpet cleaning shoppers have been burned by low teaser prices that double at the door. Your page has to show enough that the number feels honest.
- [ ] Pick a pricing unit people understand. Most homeowners think in rooms, not square feet. "Per room, up to 200 square feet" is clear.
- [ ] Write your price for one room, three rooms and a whole-house package (for example, up to six rooms and a hallway).
- [ ] Decide on a trip minimum and write it down. "Minimum visit $X" is better than a surprise.
- [ ] List what counts as a room. Hallways, stairs, walk-in closets and large open areas should each say how they are counted.
Minutes 10 to 20: list the add-ons, with prices
This is where trust is won or lost. Upsells are fine. Hidden upsells are what earn one-star reviews.
- [ ] Pet odor and urine treatment, priced per room or per spot.
- [ ] Stain protector, priced per room.
- [ ] Stairs, priced per step or per flight.
- [ ] Upholstery: sofa, loveseat, chair, sectional per seat.
- [ ] Area rugs, priced by size or by square foot.
- [ ] Moving furniture: say what you move for free and what costs extra.
A small table works best:
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Carpet, per room | $__ |
| Stairs, per flight | $__ |
| Pet odor treatment, per room | $__ |
| Protector, per room | $__ |
| Sofa | $__ |
The pet odor page checklist covers how to explain that add-on so people buy it rather than resent it.
Minutes 20 to 30: write the three sentences that stop doubt
Under the table, answer the questions shoppers are too polite to ask:
- [ ] "Will the price change at the door?" Write: "The price we quote by phone or text is the price you pay, unless you add rooms or services when we arrive. We will always ask first."
- [ ] "What is included?" Pre-treatment, hot water extraction, spot treatment of normal stains, and whatever else you do as standard. Name your method.
- [ ] "How long until it is dry?" Give a real range, like 4 to 8 hours.
Plain answers like these are also what AI search tools quote when someone asks "how much is carpet cleaning near me." The AI search guide explains why.
Minutes 30 to 40: make it easy to act
- [ ] Put your phone number at the top and bottom of the page as a tap-to-call link.
- [ ] Add a "text us a photo" option. Many people would rather text a picture of a stained sofa than describe it.
- [ ] Add a short quote form with only name, phone, number of rooms and preferred day. Four fields, not ten.
- [ ] If you take online booking, link it next to the table.
Then decide who answers. A price page drives calls in the evening and on weekends. 37% of carpet cleaners in our data list Saturday hours and 50% list no hours at all. If you do not answer on Saturday, set up an automatic text-back. The missed calls guide covers the setup, and the calculator shows what a missed call costs you.
Minutes 40 to 50: add proof and link it everywhere
- [ ] Put two or three short reviews on the price page, ideally ones that mention the price was fair or matched the quote.
- [ ] Add before and after photos of a real job, one carpet and one sofa.
- [ ] Link the page from your homepage menu as "Prices," not "Services."
- [ ] Add your starting prices to your Google Business Profile services. The Google profile guide walks through it.
- [ ] Send the link to anyone who texts "how much."
Why this matters for your reviews too
Price surprises are one of the top reasons carpet cleaners get bad reviews. A published price page cuts that off. It also makes asking for a review easier, because the customer got exactly what they expected.
For context: the median carpet cleaner in our data has 12 reviews and the top quarter has 51 or more. Companies with a website have a median of 24, against 3 for those without one, and 30.4% of carpet cleaners have no website at all. If you have one, making it answer "how much" is the cheapest improvement you can make before the holiday rush. Check where you stand in the benchmark report.
The finished page
When you are done, the page should answer four things in under ten seconds: what one room costs, what the extras cost, whether the price will change, and how to book. If a stranger can do that on their phone, the page is done.
If you want the price page built and connected to text-back, the free 14-day trial covers any one service, no card: text or call (801) 618-3099.
